Types of Hong Kong VISA

General Employment Policy (GEP)

General Employment Visa (GEP) is applied for foreign passport holders who do not have the right of abode or right to land or unconditional stay in Hong Kong to work in a Hong Kong registered company. Applicants should have already secured an offer of employment in Hong Kong upon application. 
GEP does not apply to Chinese residents of Mainland China, but applicable to the PRC passport holders who have obtained residence in an overseas country.

Employment Based Investment Visa (Investment Visa)

Overseas professionals who intend to establish or join in a business in Hong Kong may apply the investment visa. The applicant should show that the new set-up company can contribute to Hong Kong labour market and economy.

Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents & Professionals (ASMTP)

ASMTP is exclusively for Chinese passport holders. Similar as GEP, applicants should have already secured an offer of employment in Hong Kong upon application.
